It’s just great to be able to vote, my grandparents still remember when they weren’t allowed, having had the first democratic election in Italy barely 63 years ago.
And being a woman, I feel this privilege probably a bit more intensely..
So I’ve voted in New Zealand and I’m glad for it, even if the results are not what I would have choosen for the country. And I would have made a picture of how clear and explained the process was, just to send it to all my Italian friends that for the last referendum have endured months of internet “education” to explain everyone that in order to vote No, they needed to vote Yes.
but damn, nobody gave me a sticker!
You’re privileged to be able to vote in two countries, and I’m pleased you’re exercising your democratic right to do so in both places. I think it’s pretty neat that NZ lets Permanent Residents vote, not just full-fledged citizens.

This post is full of win (except the election result boooooo). Chur chur Chiara.
Hey darling,
I am glad you took it seriously, as it seems lots of people didn’t. So thank you for that.
(And no, no primaries. In fact, parties use different systems to decide the leadership and the makeup of the list.)
