We went for a walk along Oriental Parade after Chris’ waffle party this afternoon. It’s been such a warm winter—today felt much more like November than July. The sun was shining and I was only wearing two shirts and a hoodie and there was no wind.
We went to what Rachel calls her happy place, up the hill near a bus stop I used to pass
on my way home to Hataitai, when I lived there, on the number fourteen. I had no idea there was a little playground on the steep overhang looking over the harbour. We stayed for about an hour, until it got too chilly and people started getting cravings for kebabs.
I don’t have much to report, really. Everything is everything for the moment: I’m going to work in the morning and practicing my song and going to a lot of parties and coffees and dinners and drinks and movies, stuff like that. I’m historical modeling again next weekend and I start a five-day adagio and tumbling course tomorrow and I leave for the US in five weeks for a month-long visit. I’m experimenting with letting my hair grow but it’s not going very well so I may give in a cut it again.
It’s a good time, right now, a slow time, a peaceful time. We had a great day today.

Those are such great pictures! I love that you all played at that park! I think I know too many adults . . .
My favourite photo is the one where you can see I am much taller than Chris and Chiara :)
also I am virry happy that My Happy Place is now commemorated in blog form!! It’s been My Happy Place since 2002!
Those pictures look like you had a blast! I love it.
loving the skinny jeans, Chi. You are hot.
Now I wish that Rachel had shown me the Happy Place — will have to visit when next I’m in Welly.
Can’t wait to hear about the historical modelling, and also to see how your hair looks as it continues to grow out (says the girl who’s growing our her fringe for the first time in 5 years).
